Instruments for Industry M5500 Overview
The M5500 Wide band Power Amplifier is a rugged, solid state, Class A, broadband power amplifier designed for laboratory or similar uses. Its high gain permits it to be driven by low level signal generators and its linear Class A operation permits it to handle any modulation which appears on the input signal. It will faithfully amplify signals which are amplitude modulated, or any combination of these types of modulation. Moreover, it can be used to amplify many signals simultaneously, since its wide bandwidth is instantaneous. It is inherently flat within 3 dB when normally terminated and does not rely on leveling circuitry to maintain its frequency response. Therefore, it can operate satisfactorily with multiple signal outputs. It is housed in a single, easily transportable, ruggedly constructed cabinet and is complete with power supply and self contained cooling fan.
