Pacific Measurement Inst 1004 Overview
The 1004 Power Supply Test Set contains a current regulated electronic load capable of pulse loading a power supply up to 20 A and 70 V. The resulting waveform displayed on an oscilloscope gives a precise measurement of transient response and output impedance (or load regulation). It also gives a direct indication of proper loop stability. In the pulse mode, the current switches in less than 5 ?s. Also operates in DC mode for line regulation or drift measurements. Regulated load current is continuously adjustable with a 10-turn potentiometer and is monitored by a front panel meter (reads peak current in pulse mode). A ripple amplifier with a differential guarded input, selectable gain and bandwidth allows the measurement of ?volt ripple with an ordinary oscilloscope. The unit has a precision regulation monitor for direct measurement of power supply drift and regulation against line and load. The meter is calibrated directly in percent regulation.
