Phillips PM8940 Overview
Philips PM8940 is an isolation amplifier with differential input. This can measure e.g. potential-free in switch power packs, or comfortably at the exit of audio bridge amplifiers.
The equipment consists of two parts: In the actual measuring head isolating amplifier present, and the “service module”. The service module is attached directly to an oscilloscope. (20mv/Div).
In the measuring head are two 9 V of compound batteries. They hold in continuous operation about 2 to 3 hours. If they are used up, the equipment cannot be switched on despite put in plug power pack for the control unit to no more. Over a tracer at the service module one can release also a 10 minutes long running time, in order to preserve the batteries.
